All documents need to be signed by the head of programme, which the office organizes.


Mentoring Agreement

Deadline: October 31st

For participants being admitted by the regular admission procedure, a mentor will be assigned for the first year by the programme's coordinator.

The mentor should support the planning of the doctoral project, especially advise in choosing courses.

 

Agreement on supervision for creating a dissertation

Deadline: October 31st

For participants, who have been assigned to a mentor this deadline postpones for one year.

Filled-out forms should be handed in at the Administration Office, which will make sure to enclose the document to the "application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate".

 

Course Schedule

Deadline: October 31st

In consideration with the mentor/the supervisor candidates have to agree on a course schedule. Especially those, who have obtained their master degree at Kiel University have to choose substitutes for courses already taken. The course schedule will be looked into the latest while issuing the final certificate at the end of your doctorate.

 

Acceptance as a doctoral candidate by the faculty's deanery

Deadline: January 31st

For participants, who have been assigned to a mentor this deadline postpones until a supervision agreement has been signed.

The application for acceptance as a doctoral candidate has to be submitted at the faculty's deanery within two months after the "agreement on supervision for creating a dissertation" has been signed. Filled-out forms should be handed in at the Administration Office, which will let it sign by the head of programme and afterwards forward it to the deanery.

 

Research Proposal

One year after the acceptance as a doctoral candidate by the deanery, a working plan describing the planned doctoral project has to be handed in at the programme's Administration Office.

Brown Bag Workshop

Two years after the acceptance as a doctoral candidate by the deanery, the participation and presentation at the Brown Bag Worksop is obligatory. The prepared presentation has to be handed in at the programme's Administration Office, since it is the substitute for the second ongoing working plan obligatory by the Doctoral Degree Regulations of 10 September 2015.
