Professor of Applied Economics

She received her Ph.D. from University of Edinburgh in 2002 and before joining the Department of Economics at Kiel University in April 2008 taught Microeconomics at the University of Nottingham Business School, where she worked with the Industrial Economics devision. Prof. Hanley also has a halt-time research position the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.

Her research interests include Empirical Analyses on impacts of technology and R&D on International Outsourcing.

Prof. Hanley has published in a number of internationally recognized peer reviewed journals, including the Canadian Journal of Economics, Economic Inquiry and Small Business Economics
