Professor of Public Economics and Social Policy since 1985

After studying Economics at the Vienna School of Economics, he held positions as a lecturer at the University of Vienna and as a Professor of Public Economics at the University of Graz, Austria.

Apart from Public Economics and Social Policy, his special research interests cover fields like Experimental Economics, Distributional Economics and Applied Decision Research.

He has published his research in journals such as the Journal of Economics, the European Economic Review, the Pacific Economic Review, the European Journal of Political Economy, Public Choice, Journal of Population Economics and has edited several proceeding volumes. Prof. Seidl is an associate editor of the Journal of Economics and of History of Economic Ideas, a co-editor of the Handbook of Utility Theory and a former associate editor of the European Journal of Political Economy and of Economic Systems.
