Professor of Environmental, Resource and Ecological Economics

He graduated in Physics, got his PhD in Economics from the University of Heidelberg and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Ecological Modelling at the Helmholtz Centre for Environmental Research - UFZ, Leipzig and the Department of Economics at Tilburg University, Netherlands. Martin Quaas is leading the Junior Research Group Living Resources and Overfishing of the Cluster of Excellence Future Ocean.

His main research interest is the sustainable use of ecosystems, in particular sustainable fisheries, but also Spatial and Urban Economics.

He has published mainly in environmental economics journals such as Ecological Economics or Environment and Development Economics.
