Professor of Economics, in particular for Innovation, Competition Policy and New Institutional Economics
From 1995 to March 2002 he held a position as full Professor in Environmental Economics at University of Heidelberg and was Head of their Interdisciplinary Institute of Environmental Economics as well as their Graduate Programme Environmental and Resource Economics. He finished both his PhD and habilitation thesis at the University of Bielefeld.
His research field is Industrial Organization and Environmental Economics, and more recently he focuses on the relationship between policy and incentives to innovation as well as the interaction of several greenhouses gases.
He has published in the European Economic Review, Public Choice, Environmental and Resource Economics, Economic Letters, International Tax and Public Finance and other journals. Prof. Requate is on the Editorial Board of the European Economic Review and Global Economic Issues.
