Professor of International Economics

He received his Ph.D. from Trinity College, Dublin, in 1999 and before joining the Department of Economics in February 2008, he taught Economics at the University of Nottingham, where he was also a member of the Leverhulme Centre for Research on Globalisation and Economic Policy (GEP). Prof. Görg has also a half-time position at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. Furthermore, he maintains an active affiliation with GEP, is also a research affiliate at CEPR London and a research fellow at IZA Bonn.

His main research interests are in Empirical Analyses in International Economics, focussing in particular on the operations of multinational companies, exporting behaviour at the firm level and international outsourcing.

Prof. Görg has published in a number of internationally recognised peer reviewed journals, including the Review of Economics & Statistics, Journal of International Economics, Economic Journal, Canadian Journal of Economics and European Economic Review
